Hyderabad: Former Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, on Wednesday, said that the Janata Dal (Secular) will actively work as an ally with the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), led by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. Both parties will join hands to fight the next Karnataka Assembly and Lok Sabha elections.
Kumaraswamy was speaking to the media before leaving for Bengaluru after attending an event in Hyderabad where the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) declared a national party by renaming itself the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS).
HDK said that JD(S) and TRS were natural allies from the beginning. They have worked with mutual trust. “We will work with K Chandrasekhar Rao in the coming days,” he added.
The JD(S) and the BRS will work together for the 2023 Karnataka Assembly elections and the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh have a BJP-Congress-mukt political atmosphere. “Chandrasekhar Rao and I have decided to work for bringing a similar situation in Karnataka,” he said and added that both the parties will work strongly on forming a full majority government in Karnataka without the Congress and the BJP in the next assembly elections.
