Mangaluru: Surveyor sentenced to 3 years imprisonment in bribery case

Mangaluru: In relation to the bribery case, the III Additional Sessions Court sentenced a surveyor to imprisonment for three years and three months with a penalty of Rs 20,000.
Mahadeva Naik is the surveyor from Land Survey Department, Puttur Division, convicted in the case.
As per the court order read by Judge B B Jakati, if the convict fails to pay the penalty, the jail term will be extended for another three months.
Earlier, in the year 2014, a case was filed in the Karnataka Lokayukta Police Station Mangaluru, regarding bribe charges against Mahadeva, while preparing a blueprint of a land survey.
Based on this, the Lokayukta sleuths filed a chargesheet in court.
