Hunsur: Jawan named Mahesh (32), a resident of Chitta Kyatanahalli village of Hunsur taluk, who had come to his hometown on vacation died of cardiac arrest.
Mahesh served in the Indian Army and was posted at Kolkata in West Bengal.
On Monday, October 3, he had come to his hometown on a vacation.
Reportedly, on Tuesday, October 11 night, Mahesh had his dinner and slept. He breathed his last due to cardiac arrest while asleep at around 6 AM on Wednesday, October 12.
His body was taken to Hunsur government hospital for postmortem and later was handed over to his family.
Meanwhile, Hunsur legislator H P Manjunath, Tahsildar Col. Dr. Ashok, and others paid their last respects.
The District Armed Reserve Police led by Hunsur Rural Police Station Inspector C V Ravi paid a gun salute by firing three rounds into the air.
Mahesh is survived by his father, sister, wife, and a five-year-old daughter
