Madikeri petrol bomb conspiracy: Both accused granted bail

Madikeri: A local court has granted bail to two accused arrested in connection with a phone conversation of an alleged conspiracy to hurl petrol bombs at various places including Madikeri.
On the basis of the complaint given by Sheshappa Rai, a case was registered in the city police station against JDS member Mustafa and Bettageri businessman Abdullah. The arrested accused were produced in the court on Saturday. Two accused got bail on Sunday.
The audio of the purported conversation in Malayalam had gone viral on social media, inviting sharp criticism. District Superintendent of Police M. A. Aiyappa said that an investigation led by DySP is underway to trace the origin of the viral audio.
National Investigation Agency alerted
Meanwhile, MLA K G Bopaiah said that the state government and the home department have taken this case seriously and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has also been informed.
Speaking to reporters, he demanded a high-level investigation into the suspected “seditious forces” active in Kodagu that have links to Kerala-based elements.
