A 33-year-old man was brutally murdered allegedly to avenge an old incident involving his wife.

The deceased, Chandrashekar a native of Andhra Pradesh’s Hindupur district had migrated to Yelahanka in Bengaluru with his wife Shwetha some six months ago.

He was hacked to death by miscreants when he was standing on the terrace of his house late on Friday night.

A complaint in this regard was lodged by his wife.

Police said that during their stay in Hindpur Shweta had filed a case accusing a few persons of harassing her. Later the village elders brokered a truce between the miscreants and Shwetha in the presence of police. At this time police had asked Shweta to hit the miscreants with sandals.

Following the incident, the couple shifted to Bengaluru. It is suspected that Chandrashekar was hacked to death to avenge this incident.

An investigation is ongoing.
