Chamarajanagar: 25 injured after KSRTC bus carrying pilgrims falls into ditch

Hanoor: A KSRTC bus returning with pilgrims from Sri Kshetra Male Mahadeshwara fell into a ditch near Talabetta here on Wednesday.

At least 25 persons were injured in the incident.

The pilgrims were returning from Sri Kshetra Male Mahadeshwara on the occasion of Deepavali. The man behind the wheel lost control as the bus approached Talabetta. The bus veered off road and rolled into a ditch, sources said.

The injured were rushed to Kollegal sub-divisional hospital for medical treatment.

Some among the injured — including the driver Chandrashekhar, conductor Prakash, and passengers Nanjamma of Kaveripura and Ramachandra — sustained serious injuries and have been shifted to a hospital in Mysuru for advanced treatment, sources added.
