Shivamogga: Murder accused attacks cops with knife; Shot in the leg

Shivamogga: An accused in a murder case was shot in the leg after he allegedly attacked a policeman with a knife.
The accused has been identified as Zabi. The incident occurred when Zabi was being taken to the murder spot for a Mahajar.
Zabi and two others — Darshan, and Karthik — had been taken into custody in relation to the murder of Vijay who worked at a private hospital in Venkateshnagar in Shivamogga.
Zabi attacked police constable Roshan with a knife, injuring him. Acting in self-defense, police inspector Harish Patel of Kunsi Police station shot Zabi in the leg, police said.
The injured police constable has been rushed to a private hospital for treatment, whereas Zabi was taken to McGann Hospital.
Superintendent of Police G K Mithun Kumar visited McGann Hospital and took stock of the situation.
