‘Mangalore’ International Airport to be renamed ‘Mangaluru’ from Dec 1

Mangaluru: Coming into effect from December 1, 2022, the “Mangalore” International Airport will be renamed to “Mangaluru” International Aiprort read the Aeronautical Information Publication Supplement (AIP) issued by the Airport Authority of India (AAI).
The previous month the AIP Supplement issued read that the AIP Supplement informs all the stakeholders regarding the name change for the Mangalore Airport and Mangalore city in Aeronautical Information Services (AIS) products.
Further, it stated that the name of the city “Mangalore” is changed to “Mangaluru” and the name of the airport “Mangalore” Airport is changed o “Mangaluru International Airport, Mangaluru”.
Earlier, in October 2020 the AAI had handed over MIA to Adani Group for 50 years to manage, develop and operate.
