Hunsur: A decaying carcass of tigress was reportedly found in a field falling under Antharasanthe Forest Zone, Nagarahole National Park jurisdiction.

The tigress found dead after getting trapped in a field, is estimated to be 12 years old and might have died 8-10 days back.

As the villagers informed the forest officials, Forest Zonal Officer Siddaraju and his team visited the spot and assessed the situation.

Meanwhile, during the investigation, the landowner said that he was not aware that there was a trap made in his field and that he had not visited the field as there were no agricultural activities going on.

Speaking to Udayavani, animal lover Satish said that the tigress had given birth to a total of six cubs.

Earlier, the tigress along with its three cubs was seen by the villagers moving out of the forest every now and then. On the information provided by the villagers, the forest officials had carried out combing operations. But it had not paid off.

However, the CCTV cameras installed around the forest zone captured the movement of the tigress and its cubs several times.
