Kalasa: Depressed over black spot disease to areca plantation, farmer commits suicide

Chikkamagaluru: A farmer committed suicide on Sunday, November 27, after being upset over the black spot disease found in his areca plantation.
The deceased is identified as Shankaregowda (55), a resident of Nasuguni village of Kalasa taluk.
It is learned that recently the arecanut plantation spread across four acres of land that he owns was completely infected by black spot disease. He was depressed by this.
On Sunday, Shankaregowda informed his family that he would go to the farmland and return soon. As he did not return, on checking, the members of the family found him in a hung state in a forest near the farmland.
