M’luru blast case: Suspected terrorist Mateen will be brought to justice, says HM Araga

Shivamogga: State Home Minister Araga Jnanendra said that in relation to the Mangaluru bomb blast case, suspected terrorist Abdul Mateen who is absconding will not be spared and will be detained soon.

Speaking to the reporters on Monday, November 27, he said, “There are several organizations which are shielding and hiding Abdul Mateen Taha from clutches of law. This will not continue for too long. Our police will bring him to justice.”

“Police are investigating the matter in detail. Currently, we are waiting for the Mangaluru blast accused Mohammed Shareeq to recover from burn injuries. Once his health is stable, we will interroagte him, accordingly. From the investigation carried out to date, we have received a lot of information, which cannot be disclosed publicly. We have not arrested anyone till now but have subjected several people to interrogation.”

On the information about the usage of satellite phones used in the blast, he said, “The usage of satellite phones has not been confirmed yet. Usually, they are used in ships in the coastal region for communication purposes. Experts are investigating the matter. Special teams have been formed to investigate places where there were movements of Shareeq.”

As per the interim investigative reports, Shareeq was in contact with Mateen, a handler from Bengaluru (currently absconding). The National Investigation Agency has announced an Rs. 5 lakh reward for informing about the whereabouts of Mateen.
