Allowing underage child to drive scooter: Parents slapped hefty Rs 26,000 fine

Bantwal: A court here imposed a hefty fine on the parent for allowing an underage daughter a scooter to ride.

The minor girl, who was riding the scooter, was involved in an accident at Siddakatte in August this year. A case was registered at the traffic police station here about the scooter-car collision.

After the inquiry revealed that the scooter rider was a minor, investigating officer ASI Vijay had issued a notice to the erring parents.

After perusing the inquiry report, the court slapped a penalty of Rs 26,000 on the mother of the minor girl.
