Bengaluru: The Karnataka High Court has granted permission to celebrate Datta Jayanti at the Baba Budangiri Dattapeeta.
The 3-day Datta Jayanti celebrations are scheduled to be held from December 6.
A division bench of Justices Alok Aradhe and Vishwajith Shetty permitted the celebrations at the disputed site on a petition filed by the Karnataka Government.
In its plea, the government had informed the court that a management committee has already been formed. A priest and Mujawar have been appointed by a committee of Hindu-Muslim members. Both communities are performing puja and prayers every day. For these reasons, the government has sought permission from the court for holding public celebrations at the site.
