Sullia: More suspected cases of Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) in cattle have been reported from villages in the taluk.
LSD symptoms have been detected in one cattle each in Ubaradka Mittur, Aletti, Kukkujadka, Kanakamajalu, and Ajjawara villages, sources said.
The samples from the affected cows have been sent for testing. The confirmation can be made only after reports are received, sources added.
Ban on cattle transport
Several precautionary measures have been put in place in order to stem the spread of the highly contagious and deadly viral disease. The movement and transport of the cattle have been banned until further orders, on instructions from the district administration.
The animal husbandry department officials have also requested the owners not to let the cattle roam freely and to keep them pegged. Any suspected cases should be reported immediately to the Animal Husbandry department, they further added.
