Mangaluru: Several youth who were rendered jobless following the merger of Suratkal toll gate with the one at Hejamadi will find alternative job opportunity due to the efforts of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) coordinator Prathibha Kulai.
It may be recalled that Kulai, who was among those protesting against Suratkal toll plaza had assured the staff employed there that she would find them jobs as per their qualifications.
Kulai has now kept her word and has been able to get alternative jobs for few of the youths in various organizations.
The Congress leader, in a Facebook post wrote that one of the youth who was working at the toll plaza is studying at KPT and would do night duty at the toll gate to support his family financially. She has now decided to foster his education as well as the education expenses of the children of a woman working at the toll plaza through Kulai Foundation. “I will also find suitable jobs for them. The Kulai foundation has already enrolled over 5oo students for education purpose. This year too the foundation will enroll further students for educational support,” she wrote.
