Hubbali: Congress Legislator from the Kalaghatgi Assembly Constituency Santosh Lad has said that he would sacrifice his seat for former chief minister Siddaramaiah if he wishes to contest for his constituency.

Speaking to the media on Sunday, December 4 he said, “Many Congress leaders are offering their constituency to Siddaramaiah to contest the upcoming 2023 Karnataka Assembly elections. It is left to him as to where he would contest from. If he wishes to contest from my constituency (Kalaghtgi), I’m ready to sacrifice.”

On questions relating to brake on the masse marriage event, Lad said, “I have no intentions of discontinuing the mass marriage event. Kindly don’t look at it through a political prism. The reason behind the delay in the event was the Covid-19 pandemic. We have decided to organize it this time around in which we are planning to include 4000 couples. This might be a new world record too. Earlier, we had organized the event with 1200 couples. Currently, we are receiving many phone calls from different districts of the state.”
