Udupi: A youth from Kapu taluk here, who had been to Dubai to pursue his undergraduate studies, passed away on December 5 due to ill health.

The deceased has been identified as Ahmed Bilal Kapu (20).

It is gathered that Bilal, who completed his second PUC in Udupi, moved to Dubai about 4 months ago with the intention of obtaining a graduate degree.

However, his health condition worsened about a month back after which he was admitted to the Kuwait Hospital in Sharjah with symptoms of pneumonia. Despite 20 days of intense treatment, he passed away on December 5 without responding to medication, sources close to the family said.

The last rites of Bilal were held at Dubai’s Alkooz Mosque on Monday, sources added.
