Chikkamagaluru: Miscreants allegedly throw screws on road leading to Datta Peetha

Chikkamagaluru: As the Datta Jayanti celebrations were flagged off on Tuesday, December 6, to allegedly disrupt the celebrations and cause harm to the devotees reaching the Datta Peetha, miscreants have thrown screws along the road.

Reports suggest that the screws were spread across from the Kaimara Check Post to the Datta Peetha. This is suspected to be a plot/conspiracy to cause vehicular accidents and chaos along the way to Datta Peetha.

Meanwhile, the police reached the spot, assessed the situation, and have also filed a case.

Today, the first day of Datta Jayanti is also celebrated as Anasuya Jayanti (Anasuya is the wife of Sage Atri and mother of avatar Dattatreya). On this day, as per the rituals, women visit the Datta Peetha and offer prayers.
