Mangaluru: Dogs of various breeds competed for the crown at the national-level dog show organized by the Karavali Canine Club at the city’s Karavali Utsava Grounds on Sunday.

About 250 well-groomed pooches put their best paw forward in the competitions grouped into 11 categories. The dogs had arrived all the way from Bengaluru, Mysuru, Chennai, Mumbai, and Hyderabad.

It was a sight to behold for dog lovers and enthusiasts as the groomers combed through the dogs’ coats as they relaxed in front of the coolers. Some spectators were surprised at the level of grooming required for the competitions.

Contestants were adjudged for the prizes including Best Puppy, Best Female, Best Male, Best of Breed, etc

Chung-Gee AHN and Hwang Jang-Lee of Korea and National Judge Sanjeet Mohanty were on the jury for the competitions.
