Vijayapura: A person named Rajkumar Ravindra Honawad (28), a resident of Babanagar of Tikota taluk has vowed to Lord Ayyappa Swamy of Sabarimala to make Babaleshwar Assembly Constituency legislator and KPCC Campaign Panel chief M B Patil, the chief minister of Karnataka.
As a vow, Honawad has set out for a 1300 km long ‘Sabarimala padayatra’ from Vijayapura to sacred Sabari Hills, wearing the Ayyappa Mala and carrying the Irumudi, to offer to Lord Ayyappa on reaching the Sabarimala Temple.
The ‘padayatra’ which he began on December 6, has completed 40 km and has currently reached Karwar of Uttara Kannada district.
Honawad has worn a tag with a picture of former chief minister Siddaramaiah and M B Patil.
He said, “M B Patil has done a lot regarding drinking water and irrigation facilities for farmers of Vijayapura district. Hence, I want him to become the CM.”
“I own 5.5 acres of land dedicated to grapes cultivation. The farmland had suffered from water scarcity. It is only because of M B Patil, that borewells were dug helping us in irrigation”, he added.
