Gundlupet: Elephant killed after being hit by lorry at Bandipur reserve

Gundlupet: A wild elephant was killed after being hit by a lorry at the Bandipur Tiger Reserve in the Gundlupet district of Chamarajanagar on the night of Tuesday, December 13.
The accident occurred when a Tamil Nadu registered lorry coming from Kerala rammed into the elephant crossing the road. As a result, the female elephant lost its life.
As per sources, this is the first jumbo death in a road accident in Bandipur after imposing a ban on night traffic.
The forest department staff said that vehicle movement on the highway is prohibited after 9 pm, but the incident took place a little before the deadline.
