Kalaburagi: The two main accused and kingpins in the Karnataka PSI Recruitment Scam namely R D Patil, resident of Sonna village of Afzalpur taluk, and his brother and Congress leader Mahantesh Patil have been granted bail by the Kalaburagi Bench of the Karnataka High Court, on Thursday, December 15.

A few days back the bench headed by Justice Mohammad Nawaz heard arguments from both sides.

Today (Thursday, December 15), the court granted bail to kingpins.

The scam had come to light on October 3, 2021, in which R D Patil and Mahantesh Patil were named as kingpins and accused of helping candidates pass the recruitment exams using the bluetooth device.

After the investigation, on April 22, 2022, Mahantesh was arrested and the next day, i.e, on April 23 R D Patil was arrested from Maharashtra.

After repeated denial of bail for the past eight months, on Thursday, both were released on bail.
