Bengaluru: A case of suicide has been reported from Bannerghatta’s AMC Engineering College hostel toilet on Friday, December 16, where a student died after slitting his throat.
The deceased is identified as Nitin (19) from Kerala.
Nitin, who was pursuing his first year of engineering, joined the college on December 1.
On December 14, he had gone to the hostel toilet and slit his throat.
As he did not return to the hostel room, his roommates informed the hostel warden.
Upon checking the toilet, Nitin was found lying dead amid a pool of blood.
The Bannerghatta Police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.
Meanwhile, the police suspect that the reason behind Nitin’s hasty decision might be a lack of love and affection from his parents.
As per the preliminary investigative reports, Nitin is said to have been depressed, after being distanced from his parents.
He made repeated calls to his parents who were residing in Dubai after he had joined the college on December 1.
On December 14, depressed Nitin committed suicide by self-slitting his throat.
It is learned that Nitin’s family is basically from Padini Jariya Village of Kozhikode.
Suicide is preventable. If you get any such thoughts, consult or seek expert help.
