Puttur: A teenager was electrocuted to death at Ambatamoole in Badagannur here on the evening of December 17.

The deceased has been identified as Ranjith (16), son of Ambatemoole Krishnappa Naik. He was a 10th-standard student at Patte Pratibha High School.

Ranjith was found unconscious near an electric transformer that was installed close to his house. Though he was rushed to a hospital, he died on the way there.

It is said that a friend of Ranjith who lives next door had no electricity at his house. He had reportedly called Ranjith to the spot where the transformer was installed for checking the issue.
