Bagalkot: Former minister K S Eshwarappa has expressed his distress over not being given any minister portfolio yet by Chief minister Basavaraj Bommai.

Speaking to the media on Monday, he said, “I’ll go to Belagavi, but will not attend the Belagavi Assembly Winter Session. The only reason I’m going to Belagavi is to meet the Karnataka Assembly Speaker, take permission and inform him that I’ll not be attending the winter session.”

“I was informed by one of my friends that if I’m not proven guilty, then I will not be punished. CM Bommai had told me that, he will give me a minister portfolio. He used to tell me that there should be a minister like me in his Cabinet. Currently, as per the police investigation reports in relation to the contractor Santosh Patil death case, they have given me a clean chit. But I’m not sure why is he still delaying”, he added.

Further KSE said, “I’m receiving phone calls across Karnataka, in which people are saying that they are unhappy for keeping me away from ministership. I’m deeply hurt. For this reason, I’m staying away from the winter session.”
