Belagavi: BJP legislator Basangouda Patil Yatnal has said that he has faith on the government towards announcing the 2A reservation for the Panchamasali community.
Addressing the media at the Suvarna Soudha on Wednesday, December 21 he said, “I’ve faith in the CM Basavaraj Bommai-led Karnataka Government that it is going to make a historic announcement on Thursday (December 22) on the inclusion of Panchamasali in 2A reservation category. In relation to this, a humongous gathering will be observed tomorrow in Belagavi, with approximately 25 lakh people from the Panchamasali community will voluntarily participate in the padayatra and display solidarity.”
“We have not invited anyone to this event. If State Industries Minister Murugesh Nirani attends the event, he will not be allowed on stage but will be made to sit below the stage. The credit of this protest shall go to the last man standing in the Panchamasali community and not a few persons”, he added.
Meanwhile, upon asking PWD Minister C C Patil about the protest, he said, “You should ask about this with the chief minister. This is not a show of strength, but demand kept forth. Hope for the best.”
