Kumble: Kasargod MP Rajmohan Unnithan has urged the Centre to increase the honorary and incentive amount of ASHA workers and consider them as government employee
Addressing the issue during the Zero Hour of Lok Sabha’s Winter Session he said, “In Kasargod district alone there are thousands of ASHA workers who go door to door for health surveys. Making them work as a full-time government employee when they are not unethical.”
“They are providing medicines to pregnant women, involve themselves in social work assigned by the local administration, etc, but the state and the Centre have not yet adhered to their problems. Hence, I urge the government to act on it at the earliest”, he added.
