Ullal: Four held on drug trafficking charges

Ullal: Acting on credible information, Konaje police arrested four persons on charges of drug trafficking and seized property and contraband worth R 6.32 lakh from their possession.

The accused identified as Mohammed Naufal (24), Mohammed Batish (37), Mohammed Ashraf (42) — all residents of Kasaragod district and Jamsheer (24), a resident of Malappuram district were transporting the drugs from Bengaluru to Kerala via Boliyar route when they were arrested.

The police team, led by PSI Sharanappa Bhandari, was on special patrol duty and stopped the Alto car, in which the accused were travelling at the check post in Chelur. During the checking, they found and confiscated over 32 kg of ganja worth Rs 3.19 lakhs, four mobile phones worth Rs 13,000, and a car worth Rs 3 lakhs.

A case has been registered at the Konaje police station.
