Vijayapura: Six motorcycles charred after crackers spark fire

Vijayapura: As many as six motorcycles and a shed valued at Rs six lakhs were completely destroyed in a fire mishap at Tadavalga village in Indi taluk here.

The mishap took place during the last rites of Jayanagowda Patil. A large number of people had gathered for the same. The fire is suspected to have been sparked due to the firecrackers that were burst on the occasion.

Apart from the motorcycles, sacks filled with pulses stored in the shed nearby were also charred in the incident.

Upon getting information, the Indi fire brigade personnel rushed to the spot and managed to douse the fire.

Tadavalga Village Accountant Mahesh Rathod visited the spot. JDS taluk president BD Patil too visited the spot and assured of providing appropriate relief.
