Car-bus collision at Haveri: 3-yo succumbs to injuries; death toll rises to three

Kasargod: A three-year-old boy succumbed to the injuries he sustained in a road mishap on Wednesday a day after the fatal accident claimed lives of his grandparents and left his parents critically injured.

The deceased Mohammed died at the hospital where he was being treated while his parents Siyad and Sajna are said to be battling for life. Siyad’s father Mohammed (65) and mother Ayisha (62) were killed on the spot after their car was hit by a KSRTC bus on December 27 morning in Haveri.

The family was reportedly travelling to Hubballi from Kasargod for pilgrimage. The front portion of the car was totally damaged due to impact of the collision. Locals broke open the car door and rushed the injured to the hospital.

It is gathered that the mortal remains of the three-year-old and his grandparents would be brought to native place after completion of post mortem at Haveri government hospital.
