Udupi: District administration announces guidelines for New Year celebrations

Udupi: Udupi District administration on Thursday announced guidelines for New Year celebrations.
As per the guidelines, New Year celebrations are only allowed till 1:00 AM on December 31 at midnight. Covid protocols shall be strictly followed.
Owners of pubs, hotels, clubs, malls and restaurants must obtain permission from the police department. Also, precautions should be taken to avoid electrical or fire accidents.
Organizers must ensure that there are event volunteers, male and female bouncers at the venue.
Strict action will be taken against those creating nuisances in public places or misbehaving with women on the pretext of New Year celebrations.
Decibel levels of loudspeakers shall be regulated during night hours as per the Supreme Court order.
Officials have also warned of stringent action on drunk driving on the eve of New Year.
Precautions should be taken during New Year’s celebrations to ensure that neighbors, particularly the elderly, patients in hospitals and students, are not disturbed.
