Bengaluru: Union Home minister Amit Shah who will be on a two-day visit to Karnataka, reached Bengaluru on Thursday, December 29, evening.

As per the protocol, Shah was greeted by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai at the airport.

As per the schedule, Shah will be attending three events in Bengaluru, Bengaluru Rural, and Mandya and address public gatherings. The programmes are related to the cooperative sector.

Official sources said that on Friday, December 30 noon, Shah will be inaugurating Mega Dairy in Mandya and will address the gathering. In the evening, he will be chairing a cooperative conference and delivering a speech at Bengaluru Palace Grounds.

On Saturday, December 31 morning, he will be laying the foundation stone of the Central Intelligence Training Institute along with the inauguration of Indo-Tibetian Border Police (ITBP) residential and non-residential complexes at Devanahalli in Bengaluru Rural.

In the noon, he will be visiting Sauharda Cooperative Federation in Bengaluru.

Meanwhile, Shah’s visit to Mandya has become a topic of discussion in the opposition parties Congress and JDS.

Political experts believe this to be the start of the 2023 Karnataka Assembly election campaign by the BJP, to spread its roots, especially in the Old Mysuru belt, which is said to be the stronghold of JDS and Congress.
