Ahead of New Year celebrations, Mangaluru Compol issues guidelines

 Mangaluru: Ahead of New Year celebrations, City Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar has issued strict guidelines to maintain law and order in the city.

Speaking to the reporters, Shashi Kumar said, ” New Year celebrations are only allowed till 12:30 AM on December 31 at midnight. The sound systems of all programs should stop by 10 pm. Permission should be sought for New Year’s Eve celebrations on beaches and in public spaces.”

“Around 32 check posts have been set up under Mangaluru city police commissionerate. Strict action will be taken against those creating nuisances in public places and those who drink and drive,” he added.
