Kunigal: In a shocking incident, a leopard entered a house in Muddalinganadoddi village of Huliyoordurga hobli in the taluk. The couple who lived in the house, fortunately, escaped unhurt.

The leopard entered the house where Shivanna and his wife Padmamma lived on Friday night. Padmamma who was in the hall of the house noticed the wild leopard entering the house. Shivanna said, “At night, my wife and I were sitting in the hall of the house when a leopard suddenly entered the house. When we saw this, we panicked and immediately ran out of the house and bolted the door from the outside.”

Shivanna immediately informed the Huliyoordurga Range Forest Officer about the incident.

Conservator of Forests Mohammed Mansoor and staff, who rushed to the spot, managed to capture the leopard by placing a cage at the door of the house. RFO Mansoor said that the captured leopard will be released into the forest area after a health check-up.

There has been an increase in leopard-related incidents in the taluk recently. Leopards have been blamed for attacking and eating domestic animals.
