Mangaluru: CCB police have arrested two people for trying to sell ambergris worth Rs 3.2 crores.
The accused have been identified as Nimit (26) and Yogeesh (41) of Belthangady taluk.
The CCB police led by Mangaluru CCB Inspector Shyam Sundar H M raided and arrested the accused from the Lal Bagh area of Mangaluru on credible information that they were trying to sell ambergris (whale vomit), a rare wildlife product that commands a very high price.
Police said, ambergris weighing 3.2 kg and 2 mobile phones were seized from the accused. Ambergris confiscated is valued at around 3.2 crores in the international market.
A case has been registered at Barke police station in this regard.
