Malpe Beach Utsav to be held from Jan 20

Manipal: Malpe Beach Utsav will be held from January 20 till January 22 as part of the Silver Jubilee celebrations of the formation of Udupi district.
The announcement was made by District Deputy Commissioner Kurma Rao and Udupi MLA K. Raghupati Bhat at a press conference on Monday.
Several events and competitions, including adventure sports, will be held during the beach festival. Cliff diving at St Mary’s Island and Scuba diving at Kaup beach will be highlights of the festival.
National-level sea swimming competitions will be held in association with the Swimming Federation of India and Karnataka Swimming Association on January 21.
Apart from these, various competitions including Kabaddi will be held separately for the local men and women every evening. Art camp, painting, photography, sand art exhibition, various types of water sports, zip line, angling, kite festival, and food fair are planned.
A dog show is also being organized in which dogs of various breeds compete for the crown in different events.
Free Parking
The visitors to the beach festival will get free parking facilities on January 21 and 22. Along with the existing parking area, private space will be identified and necessary steps will be taken for parking, he said.
