Rishab Shetty’s Kantara has made it to the Oscars contention list in two categories.
Producer Vijay Kirangdur had informed that the movie has applied for a nomination to the Oscar. The late entry came amid massive demand from netizens that the movie be nominated for the Oscars.
An announcement regarding Kantara making it to the contention list was made by Hombale Films on Twitter. “We are overjoyed to share that ‘Kantara’ has received 2 Oscar qualifications! A heartfelt thank you to all who have supported us. We look forward to share this journey ahead with all of your support. Can’t wait to see it shine at the #Oscars #Kantara #HombaleFilms (sic),” the tweet read.
The movie will compete for the Best Film and Best Actor category with 301 movies.
Written and directed by Rishab Shetty himself, Kantara broke several records at the box office and happens to be one of the highest-grossing films of 2022.
