B’luru-Mysuru electric bus service to begin from Jan 16

Bengaluru: Electric bus service between Bengaluru and Mysuru will begin on Monday, January 16.
In a month’s time, electric bus services will be extended from Bengaluru to Davanagere, Chikkamagaluru, Shivamogga, Madikeri, and Virajpet.
KSRTC has initiated inter-city electric bus services for the first time under the FAME-2 scheme of the Union government. KSRTC is getting 50 buses under GCC (gross cost contract) model from Olectra Greentech Ltd. and its first bus will ply on the Bengaluru-Mysuru route.
The remaining 49 buses will ply between Mysuru, Madikeri, Virajpet, Davangere, Shivamogga, and Chikkamagaluru at various points.
Officials said that all 50 buses will be available for commercial traffic by the second week of February.
