Choornotsava held at Sri Krishna Matha in religious fervor

Udupi: As part of ‘Sapthotsava’ celebrations at Sri Krishna Matha in Udupi, ‘Choornotsava’ (Day-time Chariot Festival) was held under the leadership of Sri Vidyasagara Theertha Sripada of Paryaya Krishnapura Matha here on Sunday.
The annual Saptotsava, which began on January 9 this year, concluded with Choornotsava.
Choornotsava began in the morning on Sunday following a Mahapuja by the Paryaya seer. The seers of the Ashta Mathas of Udupi participated as celebrants.
After placing the Utsava idols of Lord Krishna and Lord Mukhyaprana in the Brahmaratha, thousands of devotees performed Pallapuja, Ashtavadhana, and Olagamantapapuja were performed.
Thereafter, the seers along with the Utsava idols took an ‘Avabhrutha’ bath in Madhwa Sarovar and offered Saptotsava to Lord Krishna. Thousands of devotees pulled the chariot during the Rathotsava.
