Sindagi: JDS candidate Shivananda Patil Somajala passes away

Sindagi: JD(S) candidate from Sindagi Assembly Constituency Shivananda Patil Somajala (55) passed away after suffering a heart attack late on Friday evening.

According to sources, he had returned to Sindagi after attending the Pancharatna yatra with former Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy in the afternoon. He suddenly collapsed while having a conversation at an acquaintance’s residence. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared brought dead by doctors.

Somajala had organized the JD(s)’ s Pancharatna yatra here 3 days ago. He had served in the Indian army for 16 years before taking a plunge into politics.

He is survived by his wife, a son, and a daughter.
