Dakshina Kannada, Kodagu receive rainfall on Tuesday

Mangaluru: Parts of the Karavali coast and Kodagu district received rainfall on Tuesday evening. It rained in some parts of Dakshina Kannada district too.
Sullia City, Aranthodu, Aivarnadu, Panja, Kollamogaru, Todikana, Peraje, Kalmadka, Markanja, Kavu, Ariadka, Badagannur, Puttur, Bettampadi, Kalladka, Veerakamba, Kasaragod, Badiyadka received moderate rains. It was a foggy and cloudy morning on Tuesday. The cloudy weather continued throughout the day.
There has been a rise in the minimum temperature in Dakshina Kannada district due to rain and clouds. According to the Indian Meteorological Department, Mangaluru recorded a maximum temperature of 29.1 degree C and a minimum temperature of 23.4 degree C. These temperatures were 3 degrees and 2 degrees higher than normal respectively, it said.
Chances of rain Wednesday
Responding to Udayavani, IMD officer Prasad said, “Though the SW monsoon usually ends in December, sometimes its impact continues till the third week of January. Currently, the wind is blowing from the southeasterly direction. It is raining due to the humidity in the atmosphere… As per the current forecast, in some parts of the coastal area, there is a possibility of moderate rain on January 25.”
