Mandya: R Ashoka, who was recently appointed Mandya district in-charge minister for Mandya, is facing opposition from his own party cadre there. Some BJP party workers have started a “boycott” campaign against him in Mandya.
A virtual campaign on social media was launched and posters saying “R Ashoka go back” and “Boycott” were found pasted, reportedly by BJP workers, on walls across Mandya city including VV Road, RP Road, and Subhash Nagar reportedly.
They alleged him of colluding with the JDS and thereby stunting the growth of BJP in the district.
Allegations of collusion with JD(S) against Ashoka were heard in the past too. BJP State Executive and National Council Member Dr. Siddaramaiah had earlier openly expressed his displeasure against Ashok.
However, Ashoka dismissed the latest allegations and termed the posters as a “slander” campaign by opposition parties evoked by the “strong and powerful” person coming to Mandya. He asserted that no political compromise has been done. “Let’s wait and see who is behind the slander – Congress or JDS,” he said.
