Unity of Hindus is the answer to everything: Dr Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat

Manipal: Attempts to portray ‘Homa and Havan’ rituals as superstitions are still going on today. Hindus should unite by forgetting the caste, creed, and regional differences for countering such narrative and for the well-being of the world, said Puttur Vivekananda Vidyavardhaka Sangha’s president and senior RSS functionary Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat.
He was speaking after inaugurating a religious event held on Sunday as part of Atirudra Mahayaga Sankalpa Diwas and Mrittika Puja at Shivpadi Sri Umamaheshwara Temple.
Prabhakar Baht said Hinduism wants the welfare of the world. Hinduism can never be against secularism. India is the only country that worships mother. Westerners cannot tolerate this. Thus, there is an attempt to portray the Hindu rituals as superstition, he claimed.
Hinduism is not a religion, but a way of life. Hindu society is a monogamous culture and religion that seeks the welfare of all, he opined.
He wished well for the ‘Atirudra Mahayaga’ which is being held as part of organizing the Hindu society.
Sringeri Matha Provincial Dharmadhikari Vageesh Shastri explained the background, glory, benefits, and procedure of Atirudra Mahayaga. MAHE Pro-Chancellor Dr. HS Ballal, Vice-Chancellor Dr. M.D. Venkatesh conveyed their good wishes. MLA K. Raghupathi Bhat, who is also the chairman of the ‘Atirudra Mahayaga’ Committee, presided over the event.
RSS District Sanghachalak Dr. Narayana Shenoy, former member of Vidhan Parishad Dayananda Reddy, Municipal Council President Sumitra R. Nayak, Dr. Krishna Prasad Kudlu of Prasad Ophthalmology, businessmen Muniyal Udaya Kumar Shetty, Parvat Shetty, Balakrishna Bhandari, and Karthik R. Nayak, Arun Kumar of Nirmithi Kendra, Municipal Councilors Vijayalakshmi, and Kalpana Sudhama, President of Manipal Babbuswamy Daivasthana Srinivasa Poojary, Mokesta of the temple administration Dinesh Prabhu, Vishwanath Shastri of Sringeri Matha, Udupi District Coordinator of Sri Shankar Tattva Prasar Abhiyan Vishwanath Shanbhogue were present.
President of the Temple Development Trust Mahesh Thakur welcomed the gathering. The Permanent Trustee of the temple Dinesh Samant proposed the vote of thanks. Professor Dr. Balakrishna Muddoddy compered the event.
Samarpan Diwas
Mahesh Thakur, the temple development trust president, said that ghee,Paddy and sesame and other offerings used for Purnahuti of Atirudra Mahayaga will be accepted from 9 am on February 12. It will be held as part of the “Samarpan Divas” celebration, till the completion of Atirudra Yaga. Also, silver-plated Rudrakshi with Sankalpa is being distributed to the devotees in the temple, he added.
