Kodagu: A woman from Kodagu, who was stranded in Kuwait after her visa expired has reached India safely through the enormous efforts of the Kodagu district administration and the Indian government.
Parvathy, a resident of Karadigodu in Virajpet taluk of Kodagu district, had gone to Kuwait for work through an agent. However, after the expiry of the woman’s visa, neither did the agent renew the visa nor was she sent back home. The woman told her mother about her precarious situation and helplessness over the phone. Her mother later lodged a complaint with the Kodagu district administration about the matter.
Soon after receiving the complaint, district disaster management officer R M Ananya Vasudev was entrusted with the responsibility of bringing the victim back home safely. Subsequently, the district administration, in coordination with the Indian Embassy in Kuwait and the Ministry of External Affairs, traced Parvathy in Kuwait and managed to bring her back to India safely.
District administration said that Parvathy has reached Chennai at 9.10 am on Tuesday, January 31. She will reach Kodagu from there soon.
