Udupi resident loses Rs 1.06 lakhs in KYC updation scam

Udupi: In yet another online fraud, a man lost Rs 1.6 lakhs in an online KYC update scam .
Stanley P Kunder of ALN Rao layout on Alevoor road registered a complaint at the CEN police station in this regard.
According to the complaint, he received an SMS on November 3, 2022, asking him to complete the bank KYC updation. Believing the message, he called the number mentioned in the message the next day.
On February 2, he received a call from an unknown number requesting to share his bank account details and OTP. Following this, Rs 1,06826 were withdrawn from his bank account.
