Udupi: Sri Rama Sene founder Pramod Muthalikis making all preparations for contesting as an independent candidate from the Karkala constituency. However, he is facing opposition from some quarters within the organization itself.

Some within the Sri Rama Sene have objected to Muthalik’s decision. They have alleged that a businessman and a lawyer from Karkala, who have a personal enmity against Karkala MLA and minister V Sunil Kumar, have “forced” Muthalik to contest against the MLA.

In a press release, Sri Rama Sene’s Mangaluru unit honorary president Chandrakanth Shetty, divisional president Mohan Bhat, Udupi’s Sandeep Moodubettu, and spokesperson Srinivas Rao have opposed Muthalik’s decision.

“We have been with Muthalik for a long time. We were there even when you (Muthalik) were expelled from the Bajrang Dal. However, Karkala’s Muthalik fan club did not invite you to any meeting held in Karkala. All Hindu organizations address you as ‘Guru’. With this decision of yours, the activists will be on the streets. Teach all Hindus to be united,” they said in the release.
