Mangaluru: Bajrang Dal has expressed its opposition to Valentine’s Day celebration and has appealed to the shopkeepers not to sell items inspired by Valentine’s Day.
The Hindu organization said India is a holy land. “Our country has a unique cultural tradition and our cultural practices have their own significance and centuries of history. However, western cultures are attacking Indian culture. They are trying to attract the youth community which has an adverse effect on our precious cultural practices.
“A clear example of this is Valentine’s Day. So, Bajrang Dal strongly opposes Valentine’s Day and the immoral activities being done in the name of Valentine’s Day,” it said.
Bajrang Dal district coordinator Naveen Moodushedde said in a press release that all flower shops and gift centers in the city that promote Valentine’s Day should not sell any items related to Valentine’s Day and should not support this celebration.
Earlier, the Hindu Jana Jagriti Samiti had expressed its opposition to the celebration of Valentine’s Day.
