Kodagu: Two people lost their lives after reportedly being attacked by a tiger in the past 2 days in Ponnampet Taluk here.

A boy had been killed on February 12. Following this, an elderly man was found mauled to death at Churikadu village of Pallari in Ponnampet Taluk early in the morning on February 13.

The deceased man has been identified as Raju (75), a resident of Line Mane of Badaga Village.

Fear has gripped the villages due to the back-to-back wild animal attacks. The outraged villagers are protesting for the “man-eating” tiger to be caught.

It is learnt that local MLA KG Bopaiah will meet Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai in Bengaluru and submit a request to grant permission for killing the man-eating tiger.
