Ujire Janardhana Temple Mokestara U. Vijayaraghava Paduvetnaya passes away

Belthangady: Vijayaraghava Paduvetnaya (78), the mokestara of Ujire Sri Janardhana Temple in Belthangady, passed away on February 19 afternoon at his residence in Ujire Paduvettu Mane.

He was born on October 16, 1945, at the Paduvettu Mane in Ujire, to Bhagirathiamma and Ramakrishna Paduvetnaya. He did his primary and secondary education at Janardhana School and Karnataka Vidyalaya, Ujire, and graduated in Commerce from St. Aloysius College, Mangalore.  He took up agriculture as his profession and was known to be a skilled farmer.

Vijayaraghava Paduvetnaya was also well-known for his religious and social service. He established the Primary Agricultural Credit Co-operative Society at Ujire and served as its President, Director, and mentor. As a founding member of the Ujire Lions Club, he has engaged himself in social service.  He was also the honorary president of Belthangady Taluk Brahmin Mahasabha and president of Tulu Shivalli Sabha (Belthangady).

Besides this, he had been the president of Vishwa Hindu Parishad in Belthangady taluk and the founder president of Ujire Traders Association.

Prominent personalities including Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, MLA Harish Poonja, MLC K. Pratapsimha Nayak, K. Harish Kumar, former MLA K. Vasantha Bangera, and many others expressed their condolences.
