Udupi: Bike-borne miscreants snatched and fled away with a 50-gram gold mangalsutra from a woman pedestrian near Brahmagiri here on Wednesday, February 22 morning.
The victim Vijaya J S (61), resident of Brahmagiri, Mudanidambur village was walking from Nairkere Commercial Taxes House, Mudanidambur village towards Brahmagiri when the incident occurred.
As per the complaint filed with Udupi police, the youths came from behind, snatched the woman’s mangalsutra and shoved her to the ground.
The value of the mangalsutra is estimated at Rs 2,50,000.
